Please, welcome the newest addition to the Averill family. His name is Scout. He is an 8-month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, born July 17, 2008. And he is Natalie's little guy.You might notice that he still has his tail. I cannot believe that most Pembroke Welsh Corgis have their tails bobbed (more accurately and more graphically, cut off). His is just incredibly cute. It gets very animated when he is excited. His wagging tail tells you his mood, which is always ready to have a good time.
He loves the ball, as you can see from the picture. He loves his adopted brother, Ernie. He just aggravates Ernie to death, but I don't see Ernie running away from Scout like the other dogs do. Scout is low to the ground, short stubbly legs. He looks like an out of control torpedo as he scurries about.
Natalie got him down in Hugo, Oregon. Hugo is in the coast range north of Grants Pass which is north of Medford. There is a sign on the road telling you when you are in Hugo. It's just hard to see any difference between it and the rest of the country around it. No stores. No post office. Nothing but an occasional house. And, now, one less dog.
